25-12-18 KENNEL/YARD MANAGER

We have an immediate opening for a live-in kennel manager at the rescue in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. This is a full time position working outside with dogs in all weather conditions. This position is only available for a very energetic and fit person with management experience and extensive dog knowledge and experience.

This person will manage the kennel staff of 30 (both full time and part timers) and oversee the welfare of the dogs at the rescue centre. They will work together with the office staff, veterinary team , and maintenance staff co-ordinating the rescue and rehoming of 2500 dogs a year.

Organisational skills are a must and prior rescue work or experience is a real bonus. Good communication skills are essential in order to deal with the various staff members as well as volunteers at the rescue, along with the general public looking to adopt dogs.

Any applicant needs to have reliable transport as the rescue is in a rural location without access to public transport. Applicants will also need to have a clean license and be over 25 (for insurance) in order to drive one of the rescue’s long wheel base dog transport vans if needed.

Applicants must be passionate about saving dog's lives - this is not just a job but a vocation. Accommodation (non-smoking only) is provided and salary will depend on experience and ability.

17-12-18 LIVE-IN ANIMAL CARE ASSISTANT
We have an immediate opening for a full time Animal Care Assistant. This is an on-site live-in position at the rescue in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire for a devoted dog lover with plenty of training or handling experience. No formal qualifications are required but we are looking for an experienced person who has a history of paid employment working at kennels or a dog rescue.

Accommodation is for non-smokers only and well behaved dog(s) may be allowed with negotiation. We are in a semi-rural location and not on any bus or public transport route so you will need reliable transportation and a clean driving record in order to be able to drive the rescue vehicles if or when needed.

This is a hands on passionate rescue unlike any in the country. The work can be quite fast paced, varied, intense, and unique so we are looking for someone with patience, kindness and someone who is happy to get stuck in.

You will get rich with fulfilment and the knowledge that you are part of a team rescuing and saving dog’s lives. Our work is rewarding and we work with 100% passion. Wages are dependent on experience. Potential applicants will need to be prepared to come to the rescue for an onsite tour and interview at their own expense. Also any successful applicant will need to be happy to try out this position voluntarily for a couple of days, so you can get a genuine feel for the position and of course we can learn more about you.

17-12-18 FULL TIME ANIMAL CARE ASSISTANT
We have a full time kennel/yard vacancy (which will include working one weekend day) to work outside with the dogs at the rescue in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire. Applicants must have a knowledge of dogs and previous work or volunteering experience of handling dogs of all different sizes and temperaments. Organisational and communication skills are a must, as you will speaking to and offering advice to potential adopters. You must be cheerful, punctual and be able to be a team player as well as deal with the general public who visit the rescue. As we are not near shops or public transport you must have your own transport.
